Unhappy crank / no start

1995 dodge ram 1500 4wd 5.9L

Truck has been driving great. Got home last night. still purring. This morning I turn the key and it cranks (turns over)
but doesnt start. not even a hiccup. nothing. Just cranks. Checked relays, all good. Checked fuse, Good. Havent checked
fuel pressure because i have no guage. Listened for fuel pump to come on when key is turned on and nothing. fuel pump is not coming on.
So if relays are good and fuse is good..... do i need a new fuel pump? what else could i check??

Verify you are getting power to the fuel pump for a few seconds when you first turn the key on. If you are, likely time for a new pump.

If it turns out you need one, don't cheap out on it. Denso, or Delphi, do it once, do it right, don't worry about it again. Throw some cheap brand in there (air tex....) and you get to look forward to doing it again within the year.

Albeit, a cheap $20 fuel pressure gauge would tell you almost without a doubt that the fuel pump isn't getting pressure to the fuel rail, but there are other things you can try before you go after the fuel pump. Head to the zone, o'rielly's or wallyworld n get some starting fliud, pull off the air cleaner n fire a shot or 2 down the throttle body and see if you manage to breathe some life into the engine. Shore allot cheaper and easier than a fuel pump that you're guessin' about, and as a bonus, you could also check other parameters that make an engine run as well. Are you getting spark, put your nose near the exhaust pipe n smell for fuel and puffs of air coming out. Even an engine that won't fire still has to send the air from the engine somewhere.

ok, so Im getting power to the pump, so I decided to buy a new fuel pump module. I was trying to be careful removing the connections but of course when I removed the hose to the rollover/vent valve the nipple of the valve broke off. I thought no problem, I had the new module on its way. But like an idiot I didn't listen to HeyYou and bought a $65 one and it doesn't have the rollover valve with it. local parts stores dont have it either. Should I return the module and buy a nicer one that comes with the rollover valve?
I know, I know... that's a dumb question. I should send it back and buy a denso or delphi module. Right?
That's officially 2 dumb questions, lol
