Default Transmission shifting

01 ram 1500, 4x4, 5.9, 46re, 4.56 gears, 37in bfgs - My trans shifts great under normal driving conditions but when i put my foot into it doesn't hold gears long. In fact it seems to shift through gears even earlier then under normal cruising conditions. Under heavy throttle it will hold first until 3500-4K, then second for only a few seconds, same thing with third and into OD. It causing the engine to really lug.
Im guessing the TV cable needs adjusted but i wanted to get some input from you guys before i mess with it. Should i adjust the TV cable out (rearward towards the firewall) about an 1/8" to start? That seems to be the consensus with the searching ive done on here.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yeah, I would look at TV cable first..... then, maybe the governor pressure sensor..... these trans sometimes have an issue shifting at larger throttle openings, but, that generally resulted in NO shift, not early shifts.

Heyyou - thanks. Ive been eyeing the HD govener pressure sensor/transducer kit from cascade transmission, along with a sonnax piston kit. i just dont want to mess with the trans since it is shifting well, Except for the heavy throttle situation. I will try the TV cable and go from there.

Thx again.
