Default 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 5 speed

Hi guys. I’m currently rebuilding the motor in my truck. And I want to put a cam in it. Something pretty choppy nothing crazy. Just something that sounds good. I have someone who’s pretty familiar with setting up a new motor with a can. But I’m trying to find some one or a shop in Ohio that can flash tune my computer. Because any cam that even remotely sounds decent with the 5.2 and 5.9 were flashed with like a sct tune or something. I’m just having a hard time finding someone who can do this. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to avoid a SCT tuner? Because all I've ever heard of is getting one then having either Ryan or Sean custom tune it for your cam. From what I understand they will tune as many times as it takes to get it right.

no I’m not at all. I’m just trying to find someone that will do it. No body around me seems to mess with it. And is the sct tuner something I can buy online?

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos with some people that have cams that require tunes. And most of them just get an sct flash on their stock computers

Maybe they just mean they bought the SCT tuner and did the flash themselves. I've never heard of SCT flashing the pcm directly. SCT is a handheld tuner that can be loaded with any tune. Then people like Ryan will load anything you want on it. Here:

You have to get the custom option the he'll tune it for your application. Read the directions and disclaimer he has about mods and tunes.

I have one more question. What if I just switch to carborator? Would it make things a lot easier? If that’s an option

Trouble with eliminating the fuel injection is, all of your dash instruments get their cue from the PCM. No PCM, none of the dash gauges will work.
