Default white smoke from cummins

2002 3500 ram 4x4 quit running . Installed new air dog 100 lift pump, had the vp44 rebuilt, and installed new injectors . Had a hard time bleeding the injectors . Had to crank engine a lot to get it to start, then it put out white smoke that burned my eyes . It only ran about 5 minutes then quit , and will not restart . Any ideas ?

As mentioned check the oil for coolant contamination to see if head gasket may be blown. When you changed the injectors did all the brass washers come out with the old injectors and were new washers installed?

Other than a blown head gasket check for these issues. The fact that it stings your eyes makes me believe it's not burning coolant. Check this list.
  • A clogged fuel filter
  • Incorrect injector pump timing
  • Worn engine (low compression)
  • Water or petrol contamination of the diesel fuel
