yes, it seems to start at 45/50 mph,, just drove it again. when at that speed, if I back off the pedal, then acelerate again, just before it downshifts, it clunks

Well, in O/D, the trans is in its highest gear, and TCC is locked, so, you get a direct mechanical connection from the engine, to the rear wheels. If you have even the slightest engine miss, that is where you will feel it the most. On mine, when I had two plug wires crossed, at 45 mph, the truck felt like it was going to shake itself apart. Turning of O/D masked the issue almost completely. I didn't really notice being down on power either..... (which struck me as odd......)

well, I will look into that for sure,, I'll look at any/all possibilities at this point.. it just seems odd that tensioning the rear band to proper torque would do this alone,, must be another issue, I am thinking. The 2 turns back rather than 2 7/8 is also worth trying since it's an outside adjustment. The rear is at 2 turns back now,, so maybe it is another issue.. thanks..

Will it solve your problem? That, I am not sure.
I was wondering if this applies to the 47re too (v10 if that makes any difference). I've seen you mention this a few times, but i don't remember if you just recommend it on the 46.

Its basically the same trans, so, I would assume that it would apply here as well.

talked to trans tech where I bought my parts, he tells me that everything I did wouldn't have anything to do with my current problem, that I have another issue, likely caused by driving it too much with the 2nd gear shift issue. At this point it needs someone,, not me..

I feel your pain. I get to try and figure out why my truck likes to do this weird shift stutter in first gear. I can't tell if it's first gear or between first and second. Giving it more throttle and forcing it to downshift to 1st is the only thing that seems to stop it from happening around 20MPH. Transmission fun... yay. >.>

Edit: I just thought of something check your TV cable's adjustment.

Thanks. Not having any issues or anything, but I'll give it a try next time I'm in there. A little extra kick in the shift wouldn't hurt anything.
