So my ABS and Brake light have been on for a year now and it was driving me crazy, I hate lights being on lol. I knew what the problem was the Rear Speed Sensor Harness (was fixed a while ago wes in final pic) where it plugs in up by the frame rail connector wires were bad. Here is the connector I'm talking about (see the location of it in final pic):
The PO had a crappy way of repairing wires, he used crimp connectors and had two of them in a row. Here is the factory wiring I had to work with:
Now what I did was solder wire to the existing wiring and great shrink it and here is the final result:
It's not much of a write up but I figured I'd let you guys know what I did today.
Glad you got it fixed. A piece of split loom would make it pretty. LOL
Yes it would! And I plan on doing that lol. Could pull a DTC from the CAB (light was still on after the fix) and turns out the fuse for the CAB I must've taken out.
LMAO, agreed on the dash lights, but ya gotta have chicken lights!!!
man I always loved big rigs for the lights and chrome. I saw a 2nd gen with "big rig" lighting and it was cool but when I go off road they would get ripped off! I want a Dodge D-250 it's a Dodge Big rig
My daughter's boyfriend has a 1980? short box. He's gonna put a 12v cummins in it.
Just Google "Dodge Semi" and you'll see pictures. I don't know if that's the actual name as each site calls it something different. Dodge changed their names a lot. For example in the 80s "D" & "W" was to distinguish between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive trucks.
Lights come on and off. Getting code 9 I just use quick splices to hook into the factory harness until I remove the bed to paint the whole truck, then I'll solder them. I think the quick splices must not be making a good connection when hitting bumps. Jusr figured I'd keep everyone updated.
