Default my 1999 dodge ram 2500 v10

yes I was wondering if someone can tell me why my dodge v10 it starts fine and runs great but when I go some where and the truck starts it has a bad missing and I smell gas something awful and it seems to be back firing but if I hit the full for a bit it goes back to running right. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated it only does this when I let the truck sit just a little bit when am in a store or doing other things but like I said it runs great after that little problem ok thanks.... Something is heat soaking, and having issues. It would be interesting to see what the data looks like from a warm start.

I would think that a check engine light would be on with a problem like that.

Heat soak: Engine runs fine cold, but, as things got hot, one sensor or another fails. Things expand as they warm up, and can cause some truly fun to find problems.

It's also possible you have an injector or two sticking.......
