I can get a pic of the engine mounts if you need and you don't want to completely drain the trans that's a bad idea. Just drop the tranny pan and replace whatever came out.

Be sure and pull the crank position sensor out BEFORE you remove the motor, (behind passenger side head, down on the bellhousing) and don't reinstall it until after you have the 'new' motor bolted up. Otherwise, they tend to have bad experiences, and stop working.

yeeeeah mine kinda separated into two, but it looked like it was meant to because it had an orange seal and it wasn’t like torn, so I put it back together and on the engine. I’ll take it off now though, thank you.

and yes if you could get a picture of the motor mounts that’d be awesome!

This is the dipstick tube, I’ve tried using an easy out but it started to strip the easy out lol, and it still won’t fit in there, so I’m at a loss of what to do for this problem. Any advice?

Is that the motor in the truck? Or the new one? (well, new to you at least.....) I might be tempted to drop the oil pan, and see what it looks like from the other side.

This is the “new” engine and I would do that but I don’t have an engine stand, just a hoist, and I’m not about to trust that enough to lay under the engine with it in the air, no thanks lol

Another question, if I leave a very very tight bolt in the dipstick tube, an easy out, would that be okay to drive with? I can still take it out, hold my dipstick there like where it normally is and check my oil that way, then just plug the hole again. Would that be an option that I could do?

That would be fun on a hot motor......

Harbor freight has engine stands pretty cheap. Under 50 bucks if you catch 'em on sale.

Cut a block of wood or steel tubing to fit between the top of the ram and the boom. Leave it down so the block or tube holds the weight. The engine stand would be the best though, but I've been through times where $20 seemed like 20,000, LOL.

Alright so I got an Easy Out plugging my oil dipstick hole for now, I got the rest of the motor ready to put in, and I just started putting it in today before I had to go to work. I'm having trouble lining up the motor mounts and not hitting the transmission while I push the motor back and low enough to get into the motor mounts.
Suggestion: Should I take the motor mounts off, put them on the body, then lower the engine to the mounts and mount it that way? I'm not too sure how well that would work as the motor still is hitting the trans every time I put it in there. I think I might have put the motor mounts on wrong as well, so I'm not sure. If someone has a picture of those that'd be great!
