Default Front passenger tire locks up in 4wd?

Had my truck for a few months now, used the 4wd multiple times, Neve had an issue. Actually never had a truck that went into 4wd so smooth. Till the other day when the tire locked up on me. Looked at the skid marks and it was constant, but on part locked up dead, then it would give a little and when it rotated back to the spot it would lock up hard again. Tried to take a pic but the rain washed it away before I could get a chance. The skid marks looked like this, =----=----=----=.(best I can do) any ideas? It was also a pain to get it back into 2wd.
2001 ram 2500 360.

U-joint would be a problem whether he was in 4 wheel drive or not. Something is locked up though. I would be tempted to put it in 4x4, jack up the front end, and see what you can, or cannot turn. With both front tires off the ground, one of them should turn..... other should spin the other way.

I think you should pull the front cover and have a look after a close look at the u-joint. Probably needs a gear oil change anyway.

+1 - pull the front cover and see what things look like. Likely an issue there. Let us know what you find. Posting photos here are helpful.

Maybe the fork broke in the CAD. I'd look under that cover also.

Alright, I was on wet pavement and I was turning about 50%. I had to get out of the grass before I could take it out of 4wd and turn around a fountain. Took me about 10min to get it back into 2wd after it locked up. Then I waited till I got back in the grass before I tried it again, hoping whatever locked up would fix it self and I was going straight this time. Locked up again. Took almost 20min to get it back into 2wd that time, ended up turning off the truck and switching it. Haven't had time to look at it but yeah, I was thinking the Differential(hoping something else though!) I'll Jack it up probably next weekend and give it a good look, spin a few things, see what's going on. Thanks for y'alls help and I'll let you know what I come across.
