shopping for shocks
Anybody running Bilstein 4600's on their truck? I've heard good things from bilstein, mostly from the cummins forum I'm on a lot for my other truck, but they like run the 5100's on the diesels. My gasser is obviously older and lighter and stock height so I thought about putting the 4600's on there to help with ride quality/ bump harshness reducing.
I did put new KYB gas adjust shocks on this gasser back in the fall, but holy cow they have no give. It feels like I literally put bricks in as shocks. At the time I was going cheap with the shocks and now I"m paying for it. Feels like they seized up. I think I paid like $20/shock. Anyhow, looking to see who has actually spent some money on good shocks like the 4600s and what their thoughts are.
Lastly, I know this is a 23 year old truck and it will ride rough, but surely it can be smoother than riding like a brick. I can move the mirror down to watch the rear wheel over bumps and there's next to no movement of the axle going up or down. It's stiff. And that's what my wife said about it. I guess that's a "that's what she said moment"

I have the gas-a-justs on mine and like them. Hard to believe you got them for $20/each. It takes 3-400 lbs to make it ride nice. In my opinion, these 2nd gens rode terrible. Check out Sulastic shackles.
