Default Removed the valve body, found these.... what are they?

Hello everyone, I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 automatic. The transmission is not engaging. I have heard about issues with a retainer clip on the valve body, so I took mine out. As suspected, the retainer clip was broken and I found the plunger, spring and two pieces of retainer clip... but I also found 3 pieces that i cannot identify. Two long, thin pieces of metal, and one curled piece that looks like its seen some s**t

Can anyone help me identify these?

That might be the Overdrive snap ring that is known for busting.

I am kind of confused. IO have removed the OD section and it is nothing like i have read. I either read something backwards or I dont know. There is no wave ring in the od section, there is no massive 800 pound spring. Theres this tiny retainer clip i can bend with my hands..... i dont get it

i think i figured it out> the ring is below some of that stuff, i need to take it out to get to it. I am very surprised that it can find it's way into the trans pan out from under all that stuff.

I'll find out soon! I hope it is, because it was no fun getting the transfer cases/od section out.

Yeah it's... Complicated to see the least. You need a rubber sta to get to some of the nuts.

Ive got everything back together save for the valve body, as I cannot find the plug for the tcc boost valve.... it must be lost somewhere in the transmission.... or i drained it with the oil.... however, there is one more piece am am curious about. Does anyone know what this might be:

It's beat to crap, whatever it was. That really isn't a good sign, as the part that made those dents is still in the trans, and is probably damaged as well.

It's what's left of the end of a snap ring. It's an internal notched snap ring, That black part is where you would put the snap ring pliers to remove it. If you didn't remove and take apart the od assembly it's a wise choice to so since you didn't find where it came from.
