Default Dana 60 front with Chrysler 9.25 rear???

My Dana 44 front axle needs a complete rebuild. I can get a good deal on a Dana 60 for the front. Can I use it with my current springs and the truck still look right? Thinking about replacing my Dana 44 with the Dana 60 and keeping my Chrysler 9.25 in the back. Does that work?

Dana 60 will have 8-lug hubs, other than that it should be bolt-on deal. And naturally you need to have matching diff ratio.

Thanks! I forgot all about the 8 lug hubs, then I wouldn't be able to rotate my tires... I knew about the diff ratio, but would have used that as an excuse to re-gear the rear. To bad the guy already sold his rear axle or I could get both.

you could used some wheel spacers that change the lug pattern temporarily until you can find/afford a matching dana 60 rear.

ive seen 2 piece spacers on ebay that will convert your 5 lug to 8 lug. I would use red lock tight and only run them for street driving until you can get a matching rear axle. Basically, i wouldn't have a lot of faith in them for towing or 4wheeling.

Is the 9.25 rear with 8 lugs full floating? Or is it just the ends of the axles that are different?

I wish it was to be honest I wouldnt be trying to find a good Dana 60 rear it's just the axle ends that are different just like the front the only difference really is the 3 hole flange wheel hubs instead of the 4 😂
