Default Axle question?

My buddy has a 97 Ram 2500 HD and he wants to convert to the new style rotor where they just slid over the hub. What would he need to do that? Can he just install the newer style hub? He has 2000-2001 Ram 2500 knuckles so he gets the bigger dual piston calibers but can't install them until next year they are on back order. His you have to remove the hub to get the rotor off.

It *might* be as easy as changing the knuckles, and applying all the 2000+ parts to it..... I don't know if ball joints, or steering linkage changed though.....
