its just a pulsing signal, cut the pigtail connector off the "pig" sensor and wire in the right connector for the rest of your harness. Just have to pick the right combo, so just wire nut it and try it... if it works, then connect it correctly, if not reverse it and test it to make sure it works.
My speedo is off since I've put the 20" wheels on the truck. I was searching around to see how to adjust it, and found this trickery.... Thought you might find it interesting...
That’s exactly what I did went to the store with the one I needed and wired in the plug I needed works great now if I could just figure out my 02 sensor issue throwing a check engine light I’d be grand!! Thanks guys
Just for my own knowledge, HEYyou - did all year and model (1/2 or 3/4 ton) rams come with the speed sensor in the diff? I though i remembered the earlier rams having the speedo signal on the output of the t-case.
They all had the sensor on the rear diff for the ABS system. They also had the VSS in the tailhousing of the trans/t-case (depending on number of drive wheels) for the speedo, up until 98, when they starting using the rear wheel speed sensor for the speedo as well.
