transmission wireing question

Default transmission wireing question



these are the 8 wires going from truck to transmission does anyone have something like this for the 4 wire transmissions?
i put in a new transmission on my 1996 2500 ram the problem i am having is the shift wires there are 8 but on the transmission i put in has only 4 not sure what happened but I found what the 8 wires do but i cant find anywhere about the 4 wire transmission and what they do

You put in the wrong trans, and it simply isn't going to work. The 'four wire' (should be three?) is an RH trans, the 8 wire, is an RE. Difference is how the governor works. In the older transmissions, it is mechanical, in the newer ones, its electronic. The two systems are not interchangeable.
