Find out what's sloppy, and replace it. Track Bar? Ball joints? Steering parts? Bad shocks?

Grab a friend, put 'em in the drivers seat, turn the ignition far enough so the steering is unlocked. (don't need ignition on, nor do you want the engine running.) Have your friend GENTLY rock the steering wheel back and forth. You crawl under the truck and see whats moving. Next, have your friend REEF on the steering wheel, while you watch what is happening underneath. Look for things that move, that shouldn't, or things that don't move, that should.

So upon further inspection we discovered that the track bar frame bracket has snapped. Since im likely to destro the boot for the track bar anyway how difficult is the third gen swap? Is it any cheaper than the drop bracket amd trac bar?

Ouch. Most of the adapter brackets bolt to the stock track bar mount. I think they run in the neighborhood of 300 bucks, just for the bracket, may be able to find them cheaper...... Another member has a thread around here, REAL recently, where he fabbed up his own bracket, and welded it in place.

I got the "Death Wobble" really bad in Mississippi going from ATL to DAL. Lower Ball joints were the problem. Not too difficult a job except the first time, you gotta grind off the factory rivets to bolt on the aftermarket joints.
