95 Ram 5.9 Dies and won't start until cool
Hey guys,
I figured I'd come to the experts, here. Over the last couple days, my 5.9 auto 95 ram 2500 has been getting worse with this condition it has. Seems to run perfectly fine during the morning after it sits all night. Then, after driving around and it's up to temp, it'll just shut off (and it's random... it'll be up to temp for a while before this happens. It took 10min today before it died). All the lights and radio continue to play. I can generally get it to start once more, but only stays running for a few seconds then dies, then doesn't start again. Today, it died just 2 blocks short of getting to work. Things I replaced over the last couple days to fix this issue have been:
TPS
IAC
CPS
Cleaned the battery posts thoroughly and cables connecting to battery
No fuses popped
Replaced gas cap
What else would cause this issue? Runs fine after it sits for a while. Only other sensor I could think to change would be the Cam Position Sensor. Btw, that crank sensor was a major pita to get in there... such a dumb location for it.

I would not put anything from BWD in my vehicles. I had a crank sensor from them fail only a few month's old JUNK! Might check out the coil. Any codes?

It had a 55 code. That was before doing all the sensors. Then I had the battery off to reset and had a 12 code. Just picked up the following and will install tomorrow after work

I swapped the coil tonight in the parking garage at work. I was then able to drive the 15min drive home and it didn’t act up at all. However, it’s 10-15 degrees cooler outside, so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I’ll be making a heat shield to go between the manifold and coil this weekend. I also may make some sort of shield and ducting for the PCM. Going to drive around Saturday when it’s warmer on back roads to see if the coil, in fact, was the issue.
All sensors look factory with 220k on them. So at least it was good to get them all swapped. Especially since the CPS was cracking anyway

Alrighty, update time....
Went into work where it was sitting in the parking garage. I put the new coil on and got it home without issues. Ran fine all weekend while testing (it was much cooler weather). It also ran fine getting to and from work on Monday... Then, today, on my way home to fix my flooding basement from all this rain, it died and wouldn't restart. Same issues... I also did make a nifty shield that separates the coil from the manifold. So what else could it be..
Still haven't replaced:
Cam sensor
PCM
Fuel Pump
