Default intermittent wipers, not intermitent

Ok, do all the trucks in 2000 have intermittent wipers? I have 3 speeds only, non of the intermittent controls on the stick does anything but run the 1st available speed. Anyone have a picture/location of what controls the intermittent portion? Because apparently with this truck, I have to verify the unit wasn't just ripped out with a vengeance ! (see my unresponsive vent thread for reference....)

Yes they do. Mine didn't work so I pulled apart the switch and the contacts were corroded.

I've had two switches on there do exactly the same thing... thinking its whatever is receiving the signal.

On your truck, intermittent wipers are controlled by the central timer module......

Got it, there are 3 versions and I probably want the easiest to identify (single harness model). I'll check to see if its sitting under my dash, or if there is plastic left behind under the mounting screws !

I thought we were assuming it was in the switch itself

Switch just sends a signal to the CTM. CTM actually controls the wiper motor.

Yeah it's setup just like the earlier send gens but it's if the signal going straight to the wiper motor it goes to the CTM. I still vote contacts dirty in the switch :b

What contacts were corroded? I can check the spare that I confirmed did the same thing as the one installed. Rather not buy a 3rd swtich, and have 2 spares...

In the multifunctional switch. Take the torx screws off the back and you'll see all the contacts mine were corroded bad in all my trucks (96, 97, 99, and 01)
