From Reider Racing's web site - if more information is desired, there are tons available via a quick Google search:

Power Loc - Durable four pinion gear design makes the Power-Lok one of the most positive, durable and aggressive limited slip units produced today.
Trac Loc - This two pinion, clutch style L/S unit improves traction significantly over conventional open differential and is suitable for both front and rear applications at an economical price.

BTW, when I was talking to a driveline shop - the first option they gave me was to swap in an open diff... so could be one of the POs had issues and just went the cheapest route available. Be aware there are setup clearances you have to deal with when changing diffs, and you should use a case spliter to rNr the diff on the danas.

Or spreader. It's a tool, which you use to remove/install differential from the axle housing.

Are you sure it's a Dana 60 and not a Dana 70? I wasn't aware they put Dana 60s in the rear of 2nd gens trucks.

Dana 60 was used behind the V8's. 70 was under the autotrans 2500 w/diesel and V10, manual trans 2500 had a 80 SRW, 3500 DRW had a Dana 80.
