Ok guys 2001 Ram 2500 5.9 Gas. I got a noise coming from the front end (sounds like driver's side) when I hit a bump. It almost sounds like a dust shield lose but mine rusted out a long time ago. I know it's hard to tell me what it is without a video but maybe you guys can tell me what caused noises on your vehicles in the past. Things I've checked: Shock bolts, ball joints, tres, wheel bearings, cad, I don't know what else it could be.

 

I don't know what a dust shield would sound like... You could check control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, loose bumper mount, damper shock mount... loose battery... there are sooo many things that can be loose and cause noises.

 

4wd or 2wd?

 

4x4, unless the cad he checked is software drawing programs :-)

 

Swaybar links, brake caliper bushings, either end of the trackbar. Axle end of the trackbar may not necessarily make noise, only wandering steering, but the crappy design frame mount might make noise.

 

Definitely coming from around the wheel. Control arm bushings are new but I do think I have a bad track bar so will replace and see if the noise is gone

I don't have a swaybar anymore. I am going to replace my track bar and see if that changes anything

 

Changed your shocks lately? Those lower bolts get torqued to some seriously stupid value. 110 lbs/ft?

 

I checked them and torqued them down to 145
