Default Speedometer dilema

Hi everyone, currently in a bit of a hole. I recently swapped my 46re/241dhd out of my 1997 ram 5.9 v8 for a nv4500/241dhd out of a 2001 ram 5.9 v8. Swap went great everything works except the speedometer/odometer, my 97 speedometer ran off my tcase where the tcase from the 01 has no place for the sensor because the later 2nd gen rams speedometers got their reading from the rear axle. Does anyone know if I can somehow make my truck read from the rear axle by rewiring somethings or flashing the computer? Any help or ideas to get the stock speedo/odo to work would be great, thank you

I don't know if the VSS, and the rear wheel speed sensor, sent the same signals. You *should* be able to use your old t-case though, without any trouble. May need to do a bit of finagling for the t-case shifter though. (patterns, and mounting points changed.) The NV4500 probably doesn't have the provisions for mounting the old shifter.

Worst case, you will need to tear down both t-cases, use the output shaft, and tailhousing from the older one, on the newer t-case. Tedious swap, but, not too bad.

NV3500 never came behind a 360, I assume the manual trans and such came out of the 2500.
