I had the Posi Lol on another truck and hated it. Cabin isn't bad but I'm probably going to convert it to electric

You can permanently lock it for free.

How would you do that? Do you know how bad that affects gas mileage?

Take the actuator off slide the fork over and put some washers or a spacer on it to keep it in place. It has no effect on fuel mileage, Jeep did away with it in 91 on the XJ and 97 on the Wrangler, the straight axle rams got rid of it in 02, none of those had any fuel mileage drop because of it.

I think you can just pull some of the snap rings, flip the fork over, position it in the right spot, then put the snaprings back on to hold it there.

What if I put a vacuum in the reservoir then cap both ends? The vacuum should stay

It isn't that great of a seal, it wouldn't hold for long.
