Default Dim lowbeam headlight

High guys, I have an early 98 Ram 2500 xcab 5.9 diesel. I converted my headlights to the sport model a few years ago and they seemed to work ok. I'm not sure which company I bought the headlights and wiring kit from. Recently the drivers low beam is very dim but high beam works fine. When the low beam is on the high beam seems to be on dim as well. I checked the fuse under the hood (40 amp I think) and when I pulled it all the headlight power went out, plugged it back in and it was the same as before...still dim. I tried switching the relays and nothing changed. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks

Are they just regular headlight bulbs?

How would that relate when the high beam works just fine? Is there a separate ground?

No there is not but it still can cause problems. You either have a bad bulb or a wiring issue on the ground or hot side.

Ok so after months of this last night the low beam brighten right up. I'm not sure if it happened while switching from high beam to low or not. One thing I did notice is that the (keep in mind that these are the sport headlights) high beam bulb is lit up dimly while the low beam is on. I'm going to try and get out there and do it this weekend so if you guys have any specific info on where and which ground connections to check that would be great. Thanks again

Headlight grounds. Also check the power wires for exposed copper. Only way for the high to be lit is it's getting juice. You may have absorbtion from the low beam wire
