Default possible dually conversion

if im not posting in right area then let me know so i can delete it. but would it be possible to take a 2002 dodge ram 2500 and convert it to a dually i know i would have to get a new rear axle and springs. but what else would i need and i know it would be pretty pricey. so would i be better off just buying a 2500 dually.

Won't be pricey if you can find the axle cheap. Won't need new springs unless you plan on towing a lot, which in that case get help springs. You'll need a Dana 80 and it will bolt right in to your existing suspension. If it's a single rear wheel Dana 80 just get the dually adapter.

Keep in mind, doesn't matter what upgrades you do, it still won't change the LEGAL tow rating of your truck. Go over what it was originally rated for, and have an accident, and it is highly likely your insurance company WON'T cover it. If you have something you haul that requires the additional towing capacity, buy a 3500.
