After the clutch, now engine problems
The truck has set for almost 3 months(waitin on a tranny) and when we put the transmission in, we tried to turn the engine over and nothin. The engine just kept truning over with no result. We even shot starting-fluid into the TB and nothin. Could it be plugs and wires or the coil? What are your imputs.
listen for the fuel pump turning on, with the key on it'll turn on for 2 seconds, then off. then check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. you might have to cycle the key a couple of times to re-prime the fuel system. another thought is maybe the fuel pump relay or ASD relay is stuck in the open position. this will also cause a no-start situation...
well the fule pump does prime and it does it twice(did that already). But how do you check the fuel pressure? I mean we shot the TB with starting fluid and nothin happened.
check for spark... remember you need a few things to get it fired... fuel, air, spark and compression... compression i'd rule out, shouldnt go away from sitting for 3 months... the next would be spark. if you have none, swap the ASD relay w/another (quick one to check). next would be the crank sensor then the cam sensor... crank 1st though...
Where are the sensors at? I haven't checked spark yet but im just now gettin the slave cylinder in and workin on that problem. But where would them cylinders be located at.
the relay's would be in the power distribution box, right infront of the brake booster, you can swap them with other relays, they should all have the same p/n.

Are they like fuses? Do they blow or can you just change them around? The truck doesn't have an owner's manual just because it didn't come with one when i bought it.
I would suggest the crank shaft positioning sensor as was already mentioned. My dad had to rebuild his 5.2L 2 summers ago because it had been harshly abused by the previous owner. Accidently broke the crank sensor putting the motor back in and the truck would not start or run. Taped the sensor half *** together to see if that was the problem and it would start and not idle. Bought a new sensor and the truck ran like a champ.
