The EQ heads flow better than the stock replacements. (yes, even the new casting fellers) EQ also makes the "Monster Magnum" heads, with larger valves. Something like those would likely require a custom tune though.

I called Clearwater today and they stated that Engine Quest quit manufacturing the original Iron Ram head. I assume retooling as the molds probably needed to be cleaned up some. They said they were currently out but had some "overseas" cast heads that were just like EQ heads and did fess up stating they were Chinese manufactured.

Not sure which direction I want to go in but would like the original EQ heads. Going to stick with factory valve sizes. Don't think I can feed larger valves without sacrificing bottom end. Truck is stock aside from 52mm Throttle body, Airgap, and CAI.

Stock cam will probably get help from 1.7 RR sometime but nothing to justify the need for the bigger valves right now.

Thanks again for all the help!

Yeah, for an engine you WANT low end grunt from, the smaller valves are the way to go. If you go 408 though....... (here, let me spend some more of your money. ) the bigger valves will help, and the additional cubes will make up for any loss of low end torque.
