Those old hoses go bad inside. Sounds like yours might be messing with fluid flow in both directions.

If the proportioning valve was dirty/clogged as he described it to me, could that also mean the ABS module side of that is also fouled up?

2 or 4 wheel abs? 2 wheel abs didn't work that great when it was new.......

I believe it is 2 wheel ABS, dug out my old paperwork, but its not marked like I thought it was.

Can you tell by looking at the pictures in my older thread, post #5 and 7?

From my original paperwork, sorry its a little blurry, original owner didn't fill in the ABS option.. but I think it is 2 wheel ABS.

Where did you get that paperwork? Also do you have wires going to the front wheels? If yes, 4 wheel if no then 2 wheel.

No wires by front wheels.

I have a bunch of stuff from the first owner, here's an old post of mine, follow the link for the 1997 dealer brochure taken with a better camera:

I don't think it's an abs problem. I would be tempted to replace the front pads, and at least get the rotors turned. If they are glazed, you get crappy brake performance. Pad compound makes a big difference as well. Make sure everything up there moves properly too.
