Default Injector retainers?

I am working on my 1994 Dodge 1500. Has a 360 magnum. Today I was putting on my new injectors, and the so-called retainers don’t seem to actually retain anything. I can put the retainer, on it snaps into place and I can just simply pull the injector right back out off the rail. That’s not really normal is it? Aren’t they supposed to lock the injector onto the rail?

Should be a lip, or 'slot' machined into the injector, and also something similar on the fuel rail, that the retainer clips into.

The injectors fit into each of the retainers on the fuel rail. Each injector has an O-ring style seal at the top of the injector that fits into the retainer. The bottom of each injector seats into the intake. Once the injector rail is bolted to the intake, everything should be properly seated.
