As as I said, the head gasket keeps blowing, and water comes out of the rear of the head, right under the exhaust manifold...it drips down into the oil filter area. I’ve chased the threads, and always replace head bolts.

Max 'warp' is generally around .003-.006. inches. There are videos online to demonstrate how to check for flatness.

Are you sure the coolant isn't just seeping around the exhaust manifold bolts?

Could there possibly be a crack in the head that you can't readily see? Also, there is a 1-1/4" freeze plug in that area - is that sealed properly and is the metal not cracked in that area?

Naaa. I put in UV dye and confirmed the leak with a pressure test. It's pretty strange to have this as a recurring issue. I'm familiar with the technique...just wasn't sure of the maximum measurement on these heads. The deck is perfect. No warpage at all.

I checked the freeze plugs early in the process. I'll pull it off and re-measure everything...then back to the machine ship with it.

Good idea. I'm a little miffed after spending that much money ($700) to have the heads rebuilt, that I have this issue. The shop came highly recommended, and do a lot of the high performance work here, so I'll use them again.

For that kind of money, you could have bought NEW heads, that are better castings........ Or, spend a bit more, and get some EQ Monster Magnums.... they flow a LOT better than the stock heads.

Ah well. Let us know if the shop finds anything interesting.

Sounds like a cracked head. Magnafluxing should easily find it.
