Advice on 98 Ram 3500 4x4 Dually V10
#12
Oh yeah, the V-10 is a torque MONSTER. Back when these trucks were new, it was a gas engine, pushing diesel numbers. I have 4.56 gears, and 33" tires on mine, so, my gas mileage is even worse that usual, and towing at freeway speeds just ain't happening. (I didn't do the gears, got it that way.) When "new tires" time comes around, going to bump to 35's, and get the RPM/MPH back on the more reasonable side. Of course, that means a new drop hitch as well, but hey, what can ya do?
There was a manual six speed, but, I don't know if that came behind the V-10 or not..... 5 or 6 speed autos didn't show up until 3rd gen trucks.
