Ya i know its crazy how much it is . Im from canada alberta and everyrhing is startng to get exspensive
One shop quoted me 2500 so ill go with them.
My levelling kit and new rims and tires were 2800
Starting to become an exspensive truck lol..
Also keep in mind, that when you go from 3.55 to 4.56 you either need to replace the carrier or get thick gears, because on Dana 44 the carrier break is at 3.92 and up (numericaly). Rear axle (if Chrysler) has same carrier on all ratios.
i have a 1996 ram 1500 with 35s on it but i have 4.11 on the rear and 4.10 gears on the front its stock as far as i know and i still get about 15mpg with it. and it has an 8 inch lift and a long bed

Nice setup. Have you done any towing with them? Do you notice a difference with the 4 10. I only have 3.55 so its realy sluggish i feel bad for tranny
So i went to one shop to look into a gear reduction and there saying with chrysler 9.25 i can only go down to 3.73. Called another shop south of town and there saying not worth money to do all the work. He claims that at 35" tires going 100km/hr with 3.55 gears im only at 2200 rpm. They claim that is around average rpm with trucks on highway. Says dont waste your money since its not daily driver and only going to tow once in awhile

Sounds like neither one of those shops should get your business since they are both wrong. You can get at least as low as 4.56 gears for the 9.25, and if you are turning 2200 rpm at 100 KMH (62 MPH) you aren't even in overdrive, you would be at roughly 1600 rpm if you were.

I thought OP was confused bur you can go as high as 4.56s
At one time, 4.88's were available........ but, I wouldn't go that deep. (or, put tires that would need that kind of gearing on a half ton truck.) See if there is a 4x4 shop in the area that specializes in trucks. Have a chat with them.

Yeah, but, you also bought stock in Dana, did you not? I mean, you might just as well get some return on all those front end parts you will be buying.... Not to mention transmission rebuilds.
