Default LOUD sucking noise

I have a 2001 1500 with 360, I guess I messed something up. My truck seemed to be idling rough I removed the throttle body, cleaned it all up with carb cleaner, installed a new gasket and reinstalled. Now I how a loud sucking noise coming from my cold air when Im right around 2k rpms then it goes away. I rechecked the vacuum line, connectors....I made sure the air box is tight on top of the air cleaner. Doesn't do it out idle only around 2k rpms...what did i do?

Is there a gasket between the throttle body, and air hat for the CAI?

When I was looking to buy a 2nd gen, one that I drove had that same sound in the same rpm range. It turned out to be a leak at the air cleaner at the throttle body. It was a factory setup, they had just totally missed getting that stainless retaining ring in there correctly... Noise went right away after we fixed that. They do have a gasket in there, like $3 at your local autoparts chain.

I thought the large sucking noise on these vehicles was the gas coming out of the tank when you start these things up. Sorry I could not resist a smart **** comment.

Not like that isn't the truth.

I understand that they have a gasket for it but never had one there before and had no issues till i cleaned the throttle body, the noise is coming from the air filter.

Then I wouldn't worry about it. If the engine runs good, idles properly, it isn't exhibiting any undesirable behavior, leave it alone.
