The 47, and 48 transmission had a different bellhousing bolt pattern. They would only bolt up to the diesel, or V-10 motors. My 98 (with the V-10) has the 47 behind it. No problems with it so far, though I DO need to replace my electronics. It gets stupid once in a while.

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense then. I was thinking about the Cummins, but I really didn't want a turbo powered truck. The 8.0 would just be to awful around where I'm at with the mileage, I'd probably get like 5mpg around where I'm at.

Awesome! Thanks so much, definitely gonna go with that $200 one. I was wondering if Jegs is a good brand, have seen lots of there products around.
