The flare actually threads into the large nut and that pressure is what holds it together. Im having a shop replace the radiator Friday, too much going on right now for me to mess with it that much (replacing front end stuff this weekend). I'm just trying to get the inverted flare with a barb so they can hook it all together and not worry about contamination
You probably have the heavy duty cooling system and tow package. On, my 5.9 1500 it doesn't go through the radiator just to the big cooler in front of the radiator. That's the wrong radiator with the tranny lines going into it. My radiator doesn't have the trans cooler lines. I'll put pictures up in a min or so.
It has tow and HD cooling. Every part store shows that style radiator. The OEM one that was in the bed of the truck when I bought it also had them. The cooling system speciality shop here also said it's supposed to connect in to the rad

I dont doubt they came that way. I doubt mine did though, they spliced into the factory line to route it to only the aux cooler, in the original pic you can see the hose clamp on what was supposed to be a push to connect. They may have just switched to the one style for all I know and that's what's been available. Mopar giant listed the one with fittings for a d60 build which I dont know how to distinguish
Just don't hook up the lines to the radiator you have presently, it won't hurt anything. With the transmission cooler inside the radiator you do loose an amount of coolant for the engine though. My assumption is they designed the HD/Tow Pkg with the larger transmission cooler in the front of the radiator for better heat transfer when loaded up/pulling. It also removes the heat generated by the transmission inside the radiator for better engine cooling.
I didnt know they came without to be honest. The truck had factory plow prep too and it lists both as working. I may not have them connect it back up if the aux cooler is good enough depending on the price of fittings (hydraulic hose place I'm sure) does yours still have the check valve?
