Default 5.2 to 5.9

I have a wrecked 2002 Dakota with a 5.9, can I install this into my 1998 Ram which has a blown 5.2?

Yup, sure can, may need to swap over the tins from the 5.2, and the oil pump pickup, but, aside from that, it will drop right in, and bolt right up. You will then need to have the PCM flashed for the larger motor. (dealership.....)

Oil pan, and valve covers. Valve covers likely won't matter at all, oil pan may be different between the two vehicles. If you change the pan, don't forget to change the pickup for the oil pump as well. (new pump and pickup while it's open?? Up to you.)

You will also need the flexplate from the 5.9 motor and 5.9 torque converter. While the 5.9 motor is out, might also want to change the timing chain and gear set, water pump and the intake plenum gasket.

Just the flexplate from the 5.9. Balancing weights moved to it in 96.
