Speed Sensor location on 97 dodge ram

So basically I would have to use the 98 Trans and t-case then and it would work just no speedometer? Also would I need the floor shifter out the the 98 for the 4wd? Thanks for all the info so far

Yes and no. It would work physically but you wouldn't have automatic functions from your transmission as it uses that sensor for data. You have two options.
Get a 96-97 transmission
Or
Take all the wiring, dash, and computers (from the 98) and put them into your truck.
