Well, let's talk about this. Because remember? It doesn't start AT ALL! WONT FIRE, PERIOD! TURNS OVER AND CLUNKS A BIT. SLIGHT BACKFIRE. BUT NO START AND THE BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED!

Ok, so, the PCM isn't getting a signal that it thinks it should, or, is getting a signal is simply doesn't understand...... Need to find out what is actually happening. Is it firing the coils? The injectors? Fuel pump priming? Does the pump run while cranking? Does the engine turn over slow? Got a scanner? Can you communicate with the PCM? With the ignition on, do you get 'no bus' in the odometer readout?

The fuel pump has 50# at the rail. The engine turns over fine! Brand new battery and cables. Just got the computer back. About to head out to the truck and see if I can get it going? Waiting for it to warm up! Might have to wait until march?

Default Still no Bueno?

I took a short video of what the truck sounds like when I try to start it. It turns over and doesn't catch? Doesn't look like you can download a video clip anywhere here? It's only 8-9 seconds.

Anyways, it's 10 degrees tonight. I plugged the block heater in today and tried to get it running. The computer guy said just plug it in and it will start. He is a computer guy apparently and not a mechanic? Because I did just that. Crawled around in the ice hooking up brand new cables to the starter. I knew the battery and the cables were NOT the problem? In about the bottom of eighth inning on this truck? Much more money into this thing and I could have bought another car!
So no start still? Motor seems to turn over slower then before? Battery was brand new with a full charge. Showed 12.47 volts at the battery, the fuse box and the alternator. Won't start so I can't check voltage while running. Plus I'm outside! A bit chilly here in Alaska! The computer job was a rip off. They said they would refund me my money, yet, they said they repaired it? Kinda like the guy who hit me last week in the parking lot? He never admitted he did it. But always said he would pay for it? Never did admit it. Even after watching it on video????

In the back of my mind something is telling me timing chain? Not sure why? The last time it started. It didn't want to start. When it did. It sputtered and lightly backfired twice, then died. To never start again, so far? It seems more complicated then a sensor or a ground? How I don't know? We tested for everything else and changed just about every part we could. Haven't found any bad grounds yet. But that doesn't mean they don't exist?

Are you getting good spark? Fuel pressure? Injector pulse? Compression? Computer throwing any codes? (once you try it again......)

Fuel pressure has been constantly at 48-50 psi. Second fuel pump in two years. We checked all the plugs and coil packs for spark. We did a compression check. All the cylinders were roughly the same. We pulled the plenum and removed all the injectors. Inspected and cleaned each one. Reinstalled with new oil rings. The one test we haven't done is to check for injector pulse? When we pulled the fuel injectors fuel was present. So we know it's get n to the injectors. Whether its going into the engine is a mystery? Can't start the truck to listen to them click?

It seems like the engine has slowed down when I turn it over now? Fully charged battery when cranking it over. But it doesn't roll over as fast as it used to? Almost like it kinda drags now. Sounding like the battery is down. But it shows 12.47 volts right after pulling it off the charger? Feels like it's about 10 degrees out with the wind blowing! Not sure what will get done today?

If you can, get a noid light, your local parts store should have them for rent, or, they are cheap enough, just buy one.

Cam sensor may have failed, in which case, you wouldn't get injector pulse.

In all reality, you could probably use a test light across the injector pins, to see if the bulb flashes.

I have a volt meter and a test light. Those injectors are a pain to get at with that plenum chuck of aluminium in the way. Atleast on the passenger side! Sure would be nice to have a shop to figure this out in!? Momma nature is throwing a fit up here right now!
