Smile 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9l

Hello Group! I am having a terrible time with my 2001 Dodge Ram Laramine 1500 5.9L .. P1740 Code... I have replaced the Dual Solenoid TCC & Overdrive.. Still same code.. I bought this from Amazon and some reviews said it failed could it be that? I have also replaced the recommendation plate in the tranny with the spring. New Filter, New Gasket and Recommend Tranny Oil.. Still get same code P1740 am I doing something wrong or missing something.. I have ordered new TCC Dual Solenoid but is there something else I may need to get this code to go away?

If changing the solenoid didn't help, then it's likely time for a rebuild. What it boils down to is this, the PCM expects to see a specific RPM drop when it applies TCC, or O/D. If either/both are slipping, it won't see the correct RPM drop, and it sets the code. You can try changing the solenoids (again?), but, if the code comes back fairly quickly....... Time for a rebuild.

Moving to second gen ram section for ya.

ok i'm still new to all this stuff but the code 1740 reads as ( Torque Converter Clutch or Overdrive Solenoid Performance ) the reviews on that part i bought from Amazon were very good n they all failed so do you think that might be the problem that this part was no good
