I am needing one stupid clip that hold my console to the roof of my truck, not the front ones that the screw goes into but the rear ones that just push in.

I went to the dealer and they ordered the wrong one first, then found out I have to buy the whole overhead console to get one metal clip. Cant see paying $45 for a $2 clip.

I have tried body shops and parts stores, all that is left is seeing if a salvage yard has one they would pull but seems kind of a hassle. Does anyone know of a online source for specialty clips? Thanks

Not knowing what the clip looks like, I have found numerous clips, doohickeys, watchamacallits, and thingamajigs at my local Napa store. Check the racks that usually have little packages called HELP! These are the clips and other shhhhstuff that drive us home mechanics insane when we break them.

If the clip you want isn't there, and it probably won't be, check the HELP! catalog to see if they have it.

Then, actually talk to the parts swami behind the counter and see if Napa makes, or markets, one. You'd be surprised at the amount of stuff they have access to that isn't in stock but can usually be had within one or two days at the outside.

Call Auto Fasteners at 636 939-0555. They are a supplier of automotive clips, fasteners, etc. to local shops. Located St. Peters, MO. They sell retail also. I don't know if they have a website....

I'll give them a try, just hate taking apart a good one at a salvage yard for one stupid clip. I'll see if I can find a web site for them. Thanks for the info.
