Question Headlight issues

I've got a 96 Ram 1500. Typical Canada, it came with DRLs. since I got it the DRLs never work but my high and low beams worked just fine, and high beam indicator comes on with high beams. I have recently replaced my halogen bulbs with CLD LED to get some good night lights. I have fought for days trying to get them to work properly but no matter what I do, it seems like the highs and lows are backwards? My lows shine far and high, about eye level when 20ft from a building, and my high beams are low and short, maybe 40 feet out. I have had a couple friends look at it and can't figure it out. The only thing I can think is that my DRLs not working is causing the issue? Anybody able to help a brother out?

Thanks in advance.

What is the equivalent bulb number for your LEDs?

Meant to throw that in there... It's a 9004/9007 replacement.

Ummm .... 9004 and 9007 have different pinouts so the replacement can't be for both. What is the manufacturer and part# of the LED lights ?

CLD brand lights. Part # is CLDHE9004. It's right on their website that they are the ones to use.

I wouldn't have too much faith in what the website lists. As a test I looked up the bulbs for a 2000 Ram Sport model which uses 9007 and low and behold they list the same bulb as they do for non-Sport models (9004). That and the fact that there are two different and incompatible bulb types listed on the packaging is a dead giveaway they just go by whatever the Chinese manufacturer sends them.

I'd test the bulbs to make sure they have the correct pinout, see here for details about 9004 vs 9007 bulbs: https://sparksmith.com/blogs/news/do...and-9007-bulbs

I'll have to take a look at this later this evening. I just assumed it had an internal way to correct the pinning issue considering highs and lows still work but are backwards.

Finally got time to look into this last night. Turns out the guy that installed the light didn't put them in properly and were pulled out of the housing slightly causing a bad reflection. They work just fine after I locked them in place. Pinning in the bulbs isn't a problem. Spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out if it was. Shoulda started with playing with the housing. Now to decide if I want to bother getting the DRLs to work. Thanks for the help!
