Default Cup Holder woes

Ok here is what I have.......Someone may have to look at theirs to let me know what I am missing. My cupholder doesn't come down slowly, it comes down like a ton of bricks, I have found one little coil spring there but I must be lacking something else, or another spring. If anyone can look at there's and let me know, or point me to a schematic , I know that it is behind the hinged part that connects to the center of the tray when opened. Any help is always appreciated

I have a 97 and it has the same cupholder. The little spring is all it is. If it isn't staying level and dropping to low I would add 1 turn to the spring to give it more upward push.

I didnt realize I could wind that spring, it has a guide in the back, so I must have to wind it around once. I will give it a try, thanks.
