Default Ticking....thanks for any help.

So I just bought a 99 ram 1500 100k miles an there's been a ticking when I first start it but goes away when i idel up so my first thought was it was a valve or a rod but I just noticed that it ticks in park an dosent in netural or reverse or drive an when I take off only a little. I got under the truck an it sounds louder underneath around the trans area so I think it's something else other then the valves etc. Any help would be great if I can can fix in stead of dumping crazy money into it.

Welcome to DF.

Think I might be tempted to check the torque converter bolts, and make sure they are tight. That's free. (though, it is WAY to cold to be playing outside here today. )

Moving this to second gen ram section for ya.

Listen at the timing cover if it isn't the torque converter bolts.
