I have a clicking in my front driver side tire when driving. Doesn’t go away when I brake or turn. I thought it was my wheel bearing so I put In a new inner and outer with a new rotor. It went away for a 2 mile drive then came back and will slowly get louder and louder since the clicking came back. I torqued it to 17 foot pounds then backed off and did it finger tight. I noticed that the spindle nut washer is missing the part that goes into the slot on the spindle, turning it into a normal washer basically. I wouldn’t think that would matter?
It *shouldn't* matter, so long as the bearing is good..... But, given how cheap the kits are, replacing it would be a good idea.
I am guessing 2 wheel drive truck? So, no front u-joints to worry about.... Might as simple as something in the tire..... Or the wheel cover. (if you have one....)
Check the brake equipment. I have had teeny rocks get lodged in the disc and rotor making me think horrible, end-time stuff about axles, bearings, wheels, etc. Or just maybe the pads are shot and wobbling around or the rotor is out of true.
