Which gauge had erratic reading when the light came on?

Rattling noise can be a lot of things, something mechanical or engine misfiring. You'll need a scanner to read the codes, if there's a electrical problem causing the engine run rough.

Have you looked under the hood yet? Is the serpentine belt still there?

Okay so I apologize for long waiting to respond but the belt did blow off and made my power steering go out im guessing cause turning the wheel was like wrestling an alligator so today I went out and bought a belt but its to long hopefully I dont need another tensioner pulley made I can get a shorter belt

And that belt blowing off is also the reason for check gauges light because the alternator quit charging. Check every accessory, idler pulley and tensioner for bad bearing, because those belts don't blow off wihtout the reason. And maybe that rattling noise is related, too...

Maybe it's not too long but you're routing it wrong. Super easy to do with serpentine belts.
