The mice could have chewed on the wires to cause a short. Check the fuses.

Default fixed / running

it was the crank sensor. I got that crank sensor less than 2 yrs ago. can't imagine it only lasted that long.. I got a temp gauge now too. maybe 50 bucks total including oil and coolant.

pain in the *** to change that CPS. all blind work.getting under shiningaa light up there the going up top to reach down and envision what I saw.

what size bolt holds the dipstick tube? I used one that holds the CPS (had extra) but it doesn't torq down If I turn it too tight it loses the hold.

thx. .

Default truck barely starts - can hear air sucking

it is on the right side of the engine. Cant pinpoint it.
what happens is when you start it you can hear the air sucking sound and if you continuously crank it eventually starts up slowly once it gets going the air sucking sound goes away. So, that tells me perhaps when the trucks warm some sort of valve is staying open that should close when you start the vehicle. I think it's remaining open and causing the air to suck in. What would I look for in based on what I have described?

air hat gasket for air cleaner? sorry not familiar with these terms
my question on the gasket fail is why does it stop hissing once it gets running. to me sounds like something is sticking

IAC is Idle Air Control. It's a little stepper motor on the backside of the throttle body. The sucking sound you hear is that motor opening a passage to control engine idle speed.

It's still hissing when the engine is idling, you just can't hear it.
