Default Recalibrate speedometer

Has anyone ever had to recalibrate there speedometer after doing mods?
I recently swap my gears to 4.10s and have 33" tires
my gps is saying I'm only doing 88 km/hr when the dial is saying 100
Would I need to bring it into the dealer to change it ?
thanks and happy new year everyone

If you have a 96, you just need to get the right driven gear for the VSS. I think transmission center has a chart, just get the right gear, install it, and yer done. Five minute job once you actually have the gear.

Vehicle speed sensor. It's on the tailshaft housing of the trans (2wd) or t-case (4wd) Three wire connector. Keep in mind, it is indexed by tooth count. Gotta make sure you put it back in the right place for the gear you are using.

It really isn't that bad of a job. VSS is held in by one or two bolts, gear just slides out, new one slides in, line up the marks, bolt in back into place, yer done. Don't even lose that much fluid. (still, don't be under it when you take it out..... ) It really is a five minute job. (and a 30 some odd dollar gear.)
