RAM 2500 V10 model year 2000
Hi Guys,
I have a change to purchase a 2000 2005 V10, 5 speeds 70 K miles, 2x4.
The body has no rust but the frame has rust that is pitted on it lightly. The dash is cracked, no a/c. It's not a Laramie, it is the base model.
The engine has no knock or pining sounds.
It was used for pulling a fifth wheel.
The guy is asking $ 6K.
I want to use it for a truck camper but he doesn't have the right tires on it for the load.
Is it a lot ?
What should I look for ?
Thanks for your help.

I don't think it's so far out of there for the mileage and (described) condition. Here in the high desert of Oregon nice 2nd gen diesels can go for more than twice that. I'd pay 6k for a nice late model 4WD with camper special package. Maybe a bit high for a 2WD. Definitely look for the camper special package if you want to put a truck camper on it.

I have a stupid question, how do I know that it has the camper package?

I *believe* (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) only the camper special vehicles have a rear anti-roll bar (swaybar). In any case they are riding really rough when not loaded
