I believe the spark plugs are Autolite Platinum Spark Plugs. All the parts I have bought were Master Pro from O'Reilly's auto parts.

I doubt the plugs are the sole problem, but, I will bet they are a contributor. These engines simply do not like rare-earth spark plugs. Put in some good coppers. Retest.

Yes, copper plugs would be a good start. With the Master Pro, everything you changed could still be broken. If it has good spark it should have fired with the ether. Pull the plugs, I bet they're wet.

not sure how much help this will be but I'd definitely check your fuel pressure. If it's real low then it could be new fuel filter and pump time. It happened to me on a 95 2500 I owned. I had simular symptoms. Good luck. The other suggestions on here are all great ideas to keep in mind.

I replaced all spark plugs with autolite coppers. Tested and same problem...I decided switch out the coolant temp sensor because I hadn't changed it yet. I had only previously changed the one prong sender. So I changed to 2 prong temp sensor. Also, while I jade jhe alternator and stuff out of the way I put in a new thermostat and the bypass hose because it was leaking pretty bad. So now the truck is running and it stays running! I took the truck to get gas and then drove through the country roads probably total of 20-30 minutes of drive time and the truck didn't shut off a single time! However, the stupid check engine is still on! I tried clearing the code and it just kept coming back! Same one p0118...I read in my Chilton's manual that some codes are continuous and will go away after about 40starts. Is that the case with the p0118? Can I not clear it manually? It has to go away on its own?

See if you can plug in with a scanner, and see what the PCM thinks engine temp is. I *think* it will give a reading in volts as well, but, not 100% sure on that.
