Default What are the differences between ’94-97 RAM’s?

I was inspired to ask this question by recently taking a trip to my local LKQ Pick-A-Part. I seen all 3 years, and they look absolutely the same apart from the seats in the 94 being a different shade of grey, and missing the vinyl piping. I was wondering if anybody had other things to point out. Thank you.

Changed to OBDII in 96.
Went to RE transmissions (as opposed to RH) in 96 as well.

I don't think there were any other major changes, though, there are likely some minor ones in there, that I simply haven't encountered.

LOTS of changes happened for the 98 model year, and then some more at 98.5.......

gotcha, yes, I forgot about it originally having an ECM instead of a PCM. Personally, I don’t like the interior look of the ‘98 RAM’s. I prefer the sleeker look of the 94-97 lines. 😁

In 94 you could only get a standard cab, Later came the extended then the quad. Dashes/HVAC box changed also depend on year. Interiors changed style depending on year and if you opted for the 40/20/40 split seat. Back in the first few years the only thing you could get close to a black interior was "quartz"(gray) color I remember looking at the second gens on the dealer lots when they where new. At the time i couldn't afford one, Now i have two!

that’s odd, I could’ve sworn I saw club cabs in the 1994 promotional VHS. I personally love the medium quartz interior. It’s what my baby has. It’s a lot better than “mist grey” which to me, looks like an indigo color. That’s the best feeling ever, to own what you only dreamed of at the time, isn’t it? I know I’ve been there myself.
