Default 1997 v10 to 24v swap

Hey fellas I知 looking for guidance about swapping a 24v for a V10. I have the wiring harness and computer. I知 pretty sure I知 going to need to swap the fuel system but I知 not sure what else I am going to need to do. Any advice or pointers would be helpful.

I'm unsure if the bell housing bolt pattern is the same. Could use your fuel lines if you flush them really good. Coil springs might need changed, or might cause a bumpy ride from the lighter engine. Other then that you should be good. To complete the swap would need a gas cluster.

Diesel and 8.0 have the same bellhousing bolt pattern.

Will need to change the filler neck for the tank as well. And a host of other little details. Suspension should be fine. The 8.0 and diesel weigh about the same.

instrument cluster is going to behave different, fuel system is different, and operates at different pressures, I suspect even the lines are different sized..... etc.

I would get a 12V P7100 engine, if you can find one. You probably be money ahead and be alot easier swap. You could also swap out the VP injection pump to VE injection pump to ease your wiring issues and a need for ecm. You would need 12v VE gearbox housing and custom injection line if you went the VE route.

I've seen diesel guys swap to the gaser instrument cluster, a cummins can easily rev to 5000 rpm's. You could use the 12v P7100 mechanical lift pump on the 24v, you just need to remove the electric pump. The 24v electric fuel pump are trash. You will also need to find a diesel fuel pick-up unit.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Finding a 12v where I知 at is pretty hard. They usually get scooped up by heavy equipment mechanics and the ones that are left are priced higher than a giraffes ****.
